There has been, recently, a resurgence of interest in the 1980s and it’s associated technology. The 80s were an era of invention and innovation for the computer which led to the presence of a computing device in nearly every home.

In the early 80s two men stood out from the crowd, Clive Sinclair and Chris Curry. The two men started working together, but a difference of opinion split them apart. This led to the creation of the two companies, Sinclair Computers and Acorn Computers. They, in turn, brought the term “Home Computing” to us all.

Having watched the recent programme on BBC4 – Micro Men – this, along with my own experiences, spurred me into creating a site where all the best computers and software are available on one place.

The aim of this site is to bring back to life the computers of the era, the 1980s.

Having scoured the Internet for suitable software, I have, where possible, used only Open Source software to bring the ZX Spectrum, BBC Model B and Commodore 64 Home Computers to your desktop inside your browser. This means no software downloads or installation to make these classic computers spring to life right before your eyes.

This is still a work in progress, so bear with me

Please enjoy the site and visit often.
